Telugu Movie Review:
There is been a criticism that Puri generally winds up his films. Puri
should not be given that blame. This is because the stories he regularly
writes are like that how much ever may be the budgets invested and how
much may be the care taken for filming them.
Puri
as himself knows about his stories adds up a comedy track hurriedly to
the small line he chooses for his film. Then he gives a small touch on
the name of screen play and throws it onto the audiences.
Our
heroes when Puri Jagannath is making a film with them somehow, never
care to concentrate on the story of the film. May be that is the reason
films do keep coming from Puri once in almost every three months in a
row. By luck, if there happens to be some entertaining comedy in it and a
few punch dialogues and good clicking heroism in them, that film may
bag some collections, else need less to tell about the result.
Puri
has shown Allu Arjun as the first ever Six pack hero of Tollywood
through Desamuduru. As the combination is repeating for the second time,
naturally there were great expectations in the audiences. Did the
result come up as per those expectations? How was Allu Arjun shown in
between the two beautiful girls? To know all these we need to travel
into the story of the film...
Story:
Sanju
Reddy (Allu Arjun) is the son of Doctor Reddy from Rayalaseema. He is a
street performer in Europe playing Guitar and has his own band too.
Komali (Amala Paul) comes from India to Europe for learning music. She
unexpectedly gets in touch with Sanju there. They both get closer and
fall in love with each other. They decide to marry though they both hail
from different castes. They also make their parents agree for the
marriage. When the marriage time comes close Komali gets involved in a
dangerous situation. What exactly is that situation? Did Komali marry
Sanju finally? How did Akankasha (Catherine) daughter of the Central
Minister fall in Sanju's love? All these are to be watched on the large
screens...
Analysis:
A
boy and a girl... their love story and a villain gang in between them,
which is a very small story. Puri Jagannath has written his script by
including a new episode of trapping in between. Akanksha going to Europe
for studies and stay in a room there and finding the diary of Komali in
that same room which has the love story of Sanju and Komali in it...
that story being read as episodes and the same being shown on screen as
per that.. This is what the entire story of the film.
Not
even a single scene from the film looked neither interesting nor
something fresh and new. Only the story director had believed was shown
as it is on screen. Brahmandam is seen as Fidel Brahma in the film and
Ali as Mental Krishna. These two had tried their best to do their part
of comedy and make the audience laugh to. But, the result is a zero.
There are also comedians like Khayyum, Srinivasa Reddy and others, but
looks like they were not used to their best. They were just taken to
Europe for a tour and made stand in front of the camera. Puri Jagannath
also in his style has taken some classes through his dialogues on the
caste feelings and the love of girls.
Artiste's performances:
Allu
Arjun at the audio release had made a statement. He said 'There is
nothing in the film and only the love Puri has on him will be seen in
the film on screen'. That exactly suits for the film. Bunny looked very
stylish on screen in the film, danced well and performed the stunts
greatly. Nothing else from the film can be talked much about. Added a
few of the fights were also boring. In a fight where piercing the knife
repeatedly looks too much of dramam. Coming to the heroines, both looked
beautiful. Amala Paul's performance went on cool. Catherine's
performance looked a bit over. She had sizzled the youth with her short
dresses.
Technicalities:
This
film can be said superb in terms of technicalities. The camera work of
Amol Rathod, compositions of Devisri Prasad and the stunts by Kecha are
fantastic. But for a film to stand up in the race, only these are not
enough for a film. Audiences expect a range of films from a few
directors. Similarly from a director like Puri who is given block buster
films before, the expectations are generally a bit high. Looks like
Puri hasn't given any thought about this fact. He just takes a small
line and does a film in a hurry.
Finally...
Looks
like Iddarammayilatho film would be liked only by the fans. Chances are
showing for the run of Producer Bandla Ganesh who is been dreaming
about a block buster film may slow down with this now.
